Building the Helmet and Life Support for the A7L Spacesuit. Step by Step with Screenshots.
1) With team preparing to create and add Helmet and Life Support to torso.
2) Initially I create two new prims by left clicking in an open area and clicking “create.” The first a ring and then a sphere. I then link them together selecting one then with the “shift”tab the other and using control L to link them together (also under the tools menu).
3) Next with in features for each prim (the sphere and the tube) I color them white and change there texture. I then add another prim, a hemisphere and color it black creating the helmet effect even further. I also make sure all three prims are attached to one another following the steps from before.
4) Next I attach it to the rest of the body taking time to use the “stretch” and “position” features.
5) Next I begin to create the life support. Here I am using the stretch feature to adjust the pack on the back of the torso.
6) Here I further size up the dimensions of the life support pack on the back of the torso by changing my view. This is important to do all the time when creating and linking anything. I also create the second half of the life support which sits level with the helmet.
7) Next I create the chest part of the life support by creating and attaching another prim, coloring it gray.
8) Next I added more prims representing the various buttons on the front of the spacesuit.
9) I add a couple more buttons coloring them appropriately.
10) And finally the finished product, a larger then life A7L Spacesuit!
